Force of 6kg and 8kg are together applied on the body. What is total force on it?

according the to the newtons law

of force is applied on an ovject by rqo surfave on same direction the forve will be added so the force will be6+8=14kg

but if they are in opposite direction then force will be of8-6=2kg from the directoon of greater force
