Forces of Friction becomes More between two rough surfaces ..

Friction

  • The opposing force that acts between two bodies in contact with each other is known as friction.

  • It usually acts in the opposite direction to the motion of the object .

  • Friction is more for rough surfaces than that of the smooth surfaces.

  • More the force , more will be the fiction as intention of the friction is to stop the relative motion between the bodies.

Reason for More friction in rough surfaces !

  • The rough surfaces show irregularity on their structure which is not present in the case of smooth surfaces.

  • Due to uneven nature of the rough surface it is little hard for the object to exhibit motion in a smooth manner hence more force of friction is experienced by them.

  • Teeth of both the objects present in contact with each other gets interlocked tightly hence restricting the motion of the object , which does not happen when we take smooth surface holding objects into consideration.
