Work done by magnetic field is always zero on charge particle because direction of force and displacement of particle is always perpendicular, so, F.S = 0. In magnetic field particle experiences only radial acceleration.

Force on a charged particle is zero when projected at an angle of 0° with the magnetic field. (Option A)

  • F = qVBsinθ is the force acting on a charged particle in a magnetic field.
  • If the angle formed by the velocity and magnetic field is 90 degrees, the shape will be a circle.
  • It will move in a straight line if the angle is 0 degrees.
  • If the angle is less than 90 degrees and higher than zero, the route is helical.
  • Force on a charged particle is now zero if either velocity or angle is zero. Thus, when a charged particle is projected at a zero-degree angle with the magnetic field, the force on it is zero.
  • As a consequence, option A is the correct solution.
