Force x Length/ Charge = POTENTIAL.

But why?

  • Force × length gives work done.

  • Now, work done to move a charge from one place to another in an electric field gives us POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE.

 \dfrac{force \times length}{charge}

 =  \dfrac{work \: done}{charge}

 = potential \: difference

So, option 1) is correct !
