Solution :-

Let cost of 1 paint brush is Rs.P , cost of 1 watercolor packet is Rs.W and cost of 1 drawing book is Rs.D .

so,

→ 5P + 12W = 314 ------ Eqn.(1)

and,

→ 7D + 21W + 6P = 522 ------- Eqn.(2)

subtracting Eqn.(1) from Eqn.(2)

→ 7D + 9W + P = 208

now, we need to find cost of 1 paintbrush . if it is given that, cost of a water colour packet is same as cost of a drawing book , then

→ 7W + 9W + P = 208

→ 16W + P = 208 -------- Eqn.(3)

multiply Eqn.(3) by 5 and subtracting Eqn.(1) from result,

→ 80W - 12W + 5P - 5P = 1040 - 314

→ 68W = 726

→ W = (726/68)

putting value of W in Eqn(3),

→ 16(726/68) + P = 208

→ P = 208 - 170.8

→ P = Rs.37.2 .

6P + 7D + 21W = 522 - - - - - - (2)

Multiplying both sides of Equation 1 and Equation 2 by 7 and 4 respectively we get

35P + 28D + 84W = 2198 - - - - - (3)

24P + 28W + 84W = 2088 - - - - - (4)

Equation 3 - Equation 4 gives

11P = 110

⇒ P = 10

Hence cost of a paint brush = Rs. 10

So the correct option is Rs. 10
