-India was a country oppressed by British Empire.

-Many newly formed nations were oppressed by Western powers at that time

-Seeing this and for India's best interests,India adopted a Socialist based economy which emphasised Self Reliance and State Intervention and also protecting Local Companies

-India decided to join neither USSR nor USA in the cold war and started the non-aligned

-Because of this,India was never full influenced or exploited by any world powers which made the country stable and powerful defying all odds
