answer: The plant helps to provide oxygen for animal respiration. they also maintain the balance of carbondioxide in the atmosphere. that is why forest is called 'lungs of nature'.

A reason can be that forest means a variety of several plants and trees. They are the resource of oxygen and we know that lungs purify oxygen and so forest.
