They are home to many of our tribal communities and thus help preserve the cultural diversity of the country.
They decrease soil erosion and act as barriers to an extent in times of disasters such as floods.
Forests also help in restoring the fertility of the soil.Forests also help reduce global warming and thus play an important role in regulating rain.
Forests are very important for a country and it is necessary to maintain a stipulated forest cover to keep the economy strong.
