I) Forest were useful for colonial government because the woods where used for making ships for transportation of materials from India to Europe and the woods were also used to make the railway tracks and the sleepers which needed a lot of wood.  II) forest were also essential for colonial government because it provided them the timber and Woods which were required and where in high demand in euro because it was the cold Nation therefore what was in demand for fireplace.
