Answer:

Perimeter of the square = 4 × side

Perimeter of the square with side 1 cm = 4 × 1 cm = 4 cm

Perimeter of the square with side 2 cm = 4 × 2 cm = 8 cm

Perimeter of the square with side 3 cm = 4 × 3 cm = 12 cm

Perimeter of the square with side 4 cm = 4 × 4 cm = 16 cm

...

So, we get the number sequence as:

4, 8, 12, 16, …

Area of the square = (side)2

Area of the square with side 1 cm = (1 cm)2 = 1 cm2

Area of the square with side 2 cm = (2 cm)2 = 4 cm2

Area of the square with side 3 cm = (3 cm)2 = 9 cm2

Area of the square with side 4 cm = (4 cm)2 = 16 cm2

….

So, we get the number sequence as:

1, 4, 9, 16, …
