let the age of ajay be X

let the age of Vijay be Y

Sum of their ages = 30 years

differnce is 20y if ajay is elder than vijay

X + Y = 30 -----1

and  IF Y>X

then X-Y = 20 ----2

from equation 1  

X + y = 30

X = 30 - Y

From equation 2

X - Y = 20

(30 - y) - y = 20

30 -2Y = 20

-2y = 20-30

-2y = -10

y = -10/-2

Y = 5

Age of Vijay = 5 years

Age of ajay = 30 - 5 = 25years
