x² ± x + 1 + x² -x +1 = 2x²+2 - x² -x +1 = x²-x+3

x^2 + x + 1 + x^2 -x + 1

= 2x^2 + 2

we got the sum

Now let's subtract

2x^2 + 2 - (-x^2 - x+ 1 )

= 2x^2 +2 + x^2 + x -1

= 3x^2 + x + 1
