Dear Sir,

Sub: Complain about noise pollution in locality .

I would like to draw your attention towards the increasing problems of noise pollution nowadays. It is causing health problems for elderly people. It also leads to annoyance and loss of sleep for babies. Unfortunately this noise can be heard over our daily activities nearby my school and our locality. The school boys are easily influenced by the loud speakers of pop, rock and DJ music from the nearby halls and theaters. It is a highest problem during exam time for students appearing board examinations. Such loud speakers may affect the general level of the students greatly. I would be really grateful if you could hint to pass strict laws to stop using loudspeakers. Framing rules is not enough . It is more important how the rules imposed and how much the rules guardian are unbiased, honest and truthful to all category of people.

I hope that you will take urgent necessary actions against those who are responsible for the noise pollution to relieve the babies , old people and school boys from these harmful effects..

Subject: Noise pollution, effects, and prevention.

Sir,

Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to express my concern about the increasing noise pollution especially in our cities and industrialized areas. Noise pollution causes different adverse effects on the physical and psychological well-being of people.

1) Noise pollution:
Noise pollution or sound pollution is harmful to the quality of life of human and animal life. Noise pollution is commonly generated in many industrial facilities and other workplaces. It also comes from the highway, railway, and airplane traffic and outdoor construction activities.

2) The adverse effects of noise pollution:
Noise pollution adversely affects our general well-being. It deteriotes our physiological health. Continuous exposure to noise pollution can result in lack of sleep (insomnia), hypertension (high blood pressure), and anxiety. Noise pollution can lead to partial or even complete loss of hearing. It causes many stress-related illnesses. Noise pollution affects children more than grownups.

3) Measures to Limit Noise Pollution:
Aircraft engines and automobile engines should be fitted with silencing devices.
Factories should be relocated far from residential areas. More trees should be planted along the roads because trees absorb noise.

The concerned authorities should look into the matter and enforce relevant rules and take concrete steps to reduce sound pollution of our beloved city.

Yours sincerely,

S. Joseph
