Subject : Inconvenience due to the road construction in the rainy season.
Dear Sir
This is to call the immediate attention of the Public Work Department and other concerned authorities to the ordeals of the people in the above given address.
As soon as the monsoon set in, the digging and widening of the air port road started. Sand and rubble are piled up in the sides of the road. Logging of water and mud make the road a death trap to both pedestrians and vehicle users. The contractor behaves as if the road users are his arch rivals.
Many written complaints were made to the Development Authority but they turned their deaf ears.
The maintenance and widening of the roads and other construction should be done during the summer season. They can do the work at night and avert inconvenience to the people.
It is my suggestion that any lethargy or irresponsibility from the side of the contractor and his men must be strictly handled. The bureaucrats must respect the dignity of the tax payers. Their callous attitude is another reason for our predicaments.
I will be grateful to you if you publish my letter in your esteemed newspaper so that the authority will wake from the comma and act aptly.
