Hi,
When rays of sun falls on the rain drops present in environment the rain drops acts as a prism and the sunrays get dispersed into its constituent 7 colours known as VIBGYOR.
Violet,Indigo,Green,Yellow,Orange,Red.

Whenight passes through a rain drop then it goes refraction and then reflection. After getting reflection it undergoes total internal reflection. After it again refraction and came out of the rain drop by splitting white light into seven colours namely;
Violet
Indigo
Blue
Green
Yellow
Orange and
Red.
When these colors reaches the eye of observer or man he/she saw a rainbow. This is the formation of Rainbow.
