Rocks are solid structures containing minerals. There are three types of rocks namely sedimentary rock, metamorphic rock and igneous rock.
Rocks are converted into any of these types as per suitable conditions. Rocks in volcanoes, under high temperature, become lava or molten rock. The molten rocks when reaches earth's surface, cools down and harden. They are called igneous rocks.
Sedimentary rocks are the ones formed by weathering and erosion. This occurs due to climatic changes.
Metamorphic rocks face high pressure and temperature under earth. They can further convert to sedimentary or igneous rock.
