When we heated baking soda then hydrogen gas released and sodium carbonate left.When water is added to sodium carbonate then it becomes washing soda.

Equation;

2NaHCO3 = Na2CO3 + H2O + CO2

Na2CO3 + 10H2O = Na2CO3.10H2O
