The area of rhombus can be given as

Area of Rhombus

= 1/2* (product of length of it's individual diagonals)

i.e

Area of rhombus = 1/2* d1 *d2

where

d1 and d2 are the respective lengths of the two diagonals of a rhombus.

The generalisation can however be obtained by computation from the cross product formula for polygons.

There are two formulas to find area of rhombus depend on information you know about the rhombus.

If you know Altitude (height) and side s the formula is: area = height × s.

If you know the length of one side s and the measure of one angle the formula is: area = s2 sin(∠A) = s2 sin(∠B)
