Question:

What is the formula of heron's formula Give me a example also.

Answer:

\sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}

s=a+b+c/2

Explanation:

Formula of Herons

\sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}

⇒    s=a+b+c/2

Let us solve a question to understand the were should we use the formula.

1)Find the area of a triangle whose sides are 12 cm, 6 cm and 14 cm.

Sol:

We have to find the Semi perimeter of the lines

Formula:  S=a+b+c/2

S = 12+6+14/2

S=42/2

Semi Perimeter = 21 cm

Now we have to use the Semi Perimeter Formula

\sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}

\sqrt{21(21-12)(21-6)(21-14)}

\sqrt{21(9)(15)(7)}

\sqrt{21*945}

\sqrt{19845}

⇒140.8722...cm

Hence the area of Triangles is 140.8722...cm.
