Formula of water is H2O. means water contain oxygen which is required for any thing to burn and Hydrogen which itself burn as in sun ( sun is a burning ball of hydrogen gas). If it is so why any thing that is burning get extinguished when u throw water on it????

Air contains oxygen which helps to burning things in dry but when we throw water on to burning things it contains moisture thats why burning thing gone Extinguished. Hydrogen gone react slow down in moisture.
