There is no specific formula but by stating a little theory the process can be shorten....
Use formula 1/2 × ( a + b )
I am taking example to explain
Find Rational number between 2 and 3
= 1/2 ( 2 + 3 )
= 1/2 ×5
= 5/2
= 2.50
We know 2.50 belong to group of Rational numbers so nearby numbers would be rational such as 2.51 , 2.49 , 2.57
But be careful don't take any whole number such as 0,1,2...
Don't take any perfect square such as 1,4,9..
People make mistake and take 2.25 as rational but didn't remember it is a square of 1.5
So make sure you avoid mistakes take number which are prime such 2.49 , 3.13 and so...
Hope it helps✌️✌️

How to find rational numbers between two given rational numbers?
If m and n be two rational numbers such that m < n then 1/2 (m + n) is a rational number between m and n.
1. Find out a rational number lying halfway between 2/7 and 3/4.
Solution:
Required number = 1/2 (2/7 + 3/4)
= 1/2 ((8 + 21)/28)
= {1/2 × 29/28)
= 29/56
Hence, 29/56 is a rational number lying halfway between 2/7 and 3/4.
