Forty-five divided by three times the sum of 3 and 2. In the calculator if I type the equation 45/3(3+2) the answer is 75, although many people on the net say it is 3 as 45/3*5 now, by the BODMAS rule, division should be performed first which results in 75. That is also what my teacher says. But my argument is that seeing the question, I say the equation 45/(3*(3+2)) is true. What is the actual answer or is the question just ambiguous?

Answer:

Ok so the actual answer is 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Firstly we have to get the sum of 2and 3

2+3=5

So, secondly,Forty-five divided by three times the sum of 3 and 2.

then 5×3=15

Lastly 45÷15=3

So the correct answer is 3
