The modal value of the data is 14.7

Step-by-step explanation:

here ,

the maximum class frequency is 12 , and the class corresponding to this frequency is 14.1- 15

so the modal class is 14.1-15

lower limit (l)=14.1

class size (h) = 0.9

frequency (f1) of the modal class = 12

frequency (f0) of class preceeding the modal class = 8

frequency (f2) of class suceeding the modal class = 10

then

mode = l+ (\frac{(f_1 - f_0)}{2f_1-f_0-f_2})\times h

14.1+ (\frac{12-8}{24-8-10} )\times 0.9

= 14.1+(\frac{4}{6} )\times 0.9

=14.1 + 0.6

= 14.7

hence ,

the modal value of the data is 14.7
