In the above Question , the following information is given -

Four , added to twice a number yields ( 26 / 5 ) .

Find the required fraction .

Solution -

Here.

Let the required fraction be x .

Now , we have the following condition -

Four , added to twice a number yields ( 26 / 5 ) .

Now ,

The given number is assumed to be x .

Twice the number -

=> Twice of x

=> 2 × x

=> 2x

Now,

4 is added to this number .

So , finally the LHS becomes -

=> 2x + 4

Now, as per the given question , this is equal to ( 26 / 5 ) .

So ,

=> 2x + 4 = ( 26 / 5 )

=> 2x = ( 6 / 5 )

=> x = ( 3 / 5 )

Thus , the required fraction is ( 3 / 5 ) .
