Finishing with grade 12 studies marks a period of transition on many fronts.

1. You are out of school, on your way to college and are suddenly not a school kid anymore. The expectations change overnight and you are expected to behave like a mature adult.

2. You have a lot of time, but not much to do. The transition here involves parents who feel that you now have the time to help out with household chores. The work that was done for you by others, now needs to be handled by you. You are in charge of a lot of tiny things.

3. The focus shifts from doing well in the board exams to doing well in life. Strangely, the pressure of exams is done, but has been replaced by the pressure of accomplishing something great in life. So, you are stress-free, but still anxious.

4. The biggest transition is becoming an alumnus of the school. You are suddenly not an active participant of the school community and become an old student.
