Four children measured the length of a table which was about 2metres.Each used different ways to measure it:

1. Sam measured it with half metre long thread
2. Tina used a 15cm scale
3. Reena measured it using her handspan
4. Salim used a 5cm long measuring tape

Which of them would get the most accurate length? Give reason

The most accurate reading would be given by 1.Sam since he based his readings on the half metre long thread. Since he had to take assumptions only 4 times(remember where he placed the end of the thread in the previous reading) his calculation would be theost accurate. Others had to lift their measuring device many times which would result in increased errors.
