Four circles are drawn side by side in a line and enclosed by a rectangle as shown below.
If the radius of each of the circles is 3m ,then calculate
1.the are of the rectangle
2.the area of each circle
3.the shaded area inside the rectangle

A_s = 36 m^{2}

A_c = 28.53 m^{2}

A_(s.r.) = 7.47 m^{2}

Explanation:

Given that, radius of each circle metre

So you go through attached figure  

Each side of rectangle will be equal and it will be called square  

and its side a = 2r = 2\times 3 = 6 metre

1.   Area of the rectangle  

A_s = a^{2} = 6^{2} = 36 m^{2}

2.  Area  of the each circle  

A_c = \pi r^{2} = \pi 3^{2} = 9\pi = 28.53 m^{2}

3.   Area of shaded region

A_(s.r.) = A_s - A_c = 36 - 28.53 = 7.47  m^{2}
