Solution :-

In order to find the largest capacity of container , we need to find the HCF of 12 , 32, 48 and 56 .

So, prime factors of 12 , 32, 48 and 56 :-

→ 12 = 2 * 2 * 3

→ 32 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 2

→ 48 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 3

→ 56 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 7

then,

→ HCF = 2 * 2 = 4 .

therefore, the capacity of the largest container that can exactly measure the water in all four containers is 4 .
