Given :

Length of each side (L) = 8 cm

To Find :

Surface area of the cuboid

Solution :

As four cube each of side 8 cm are joined end to end, so the length (l) of the cuboid will be (4×8) cm i.e., 32 cm.

We know, Total surface area of the cuboid = 2 (lb + bh + lh)

where, l = length; b = breadth; h = height

∴ Total surface area of the cuboid = 2(32×8 + 8×8 + 32×8)

                                                          = 2(256 + 64 + 256)

                                                          = 2(576)

                                                          = 1152 cm²

Hence, the total surface area of the cuboid is 1152 cm²
