Answer:

length = 28

height = 7

breadth = 7

Total surface area of cubiod = 2(LB +BH + HL)

so, TSA = 882 cm

I hope you understand my answer .

Total surface area of cuboid is 882 cm².

Given:

  • Four cubes each of edge 7 cm.
  • Put one above the other to form a cuboid .

To find:

  • Find the total surface area of cuboid.

Solution:

Formula to be used:

Total surface area of cuboid\bf  = 2(lb + bh + lh) \\

here,

l: length

b: breadth

and h: height

Step 1:

Find the dimensions of cuboid so formed.

it is clear that

l= 7 cm

b= 7 cm

h= 4×7 = 28 cm

Because cubes are put one above the other; Thus , height will change only

(see attached figure)

Step 2:

Put the values in formula and find TSA of cuboid.

TSA = 2(7 \times 7 + 7 \times 28 +7 \times  28 ) \\

or

TSA = 2(49 +196 + 196 ) \\

or

TSA = 2(441 ) \\

or

\bf TSA =882 \:  {cm}^{2}  \\

Thus,

Total surface area of cuboid is 882 cm².
