Four cubes on each of the sides 9 cm are joined end to end as shown in the figure below.

i. Write the dimensions of the resulting figure.
ii. Find the total surface area of the resulting figure.
iii. Find the volume of the resulting figure.

Edge of each cube =9cm

We know that 

Length of the cuboid formed by 4 cubes (l)=9×4=36cm

)=9×4=36cmBreadth (b)=9cm

)=9×4=36cmBreadth (b)=9cmand height (h)=9cm

Total surface area of the cuboid =2(lb+bh+hl)

Substituting the values

Substituting the values=2(36×9+9×9+9×36)cm²

 By further estimation the values =2(324+81+324)cm²

 So we get =2×729cm2=1458cm²

Volume =l×b×h=36×9×9cm2=2916cm³
