Four equal circles are described about the four corners of a square so that each touches the two of the others. Find the area of a part of the square enclosed by the circles if the sides of the square is 14cm.

Area of square
=side x side
=14 ×14
=196cm^2

Area of your circles
= 4×πr^2
=4×22/7×3.5×3.5
=154cm^2

Area = 196 - 154
=42cm^2
