Corrosion is a process in which metals are damaged slowly from outer surface.
This process usually occurs when environmental changes affect the physical properties of metal.
The four main factors of iron corrosion are:
presence of impurities on metal surface, variation in temperature around metal, inappropriate surface conditions and o much exposure of metal in atmosphere.
