let the number be =x
therefore, four fifth of the no. = 4x/5
therefore, three seventh of the no. = 3x/7
therefore, A.T.Q
4X/5-3X/7=26
28X/35-15X/35=26
13X/35=26
13X=26*35
X=26*35/13
X=70
THEREFORE, the number is 70

Concept

Numbers are arithmetic values used to represent quantities and perform calculations. A writing symbol such as "3" that represents a number is called a number. A number system is a writing system that uses numbers  or symbols to represent numbers logically.

Given

We have been given that \frac{4}{5} of a number exceeds its \frac{3}{7} by 26 .

Find

We are asked to determine the number .

Solution

Let the number be x .

Four - fifth of a number =\frac{4x}{5}

three - seventh of a number =\frac{3x}{7}

According to the statement , " Four fifth of a number is more 26 of three seventh of a number " .

\frac{4x}{5} = \frac{3x}{7} +26\\\\\frac{4x}{5} - \frac{3x}{7} =26\\\\\frac{28x-15x}{35} =26\\\\13x=910\\x=70

Therefore, the number is 70.
