\large\underline{\sf{Solution-}}

Given that

Four friends Ram, Raju, Ravi and Ritu are standing in reference to a well situated at the origin with the following respective coordinates (2,4) , (-2,4), (-2,-4) and (2,-4).

Let assume that coordinates are represented as

Coordinates of A be (2, 4)

Coordinates of B (- 2, 4)

Coordinates of C (- 2, - 4)

Coordinates of D (2, - 4).

[ Please see the attachment ].

From graph we concluded that

AB = 4 units

BC = 8 units

CD = 4 units

DA = 8 units

Also,

AB is erpendicular to BC.

BC is perpendicular to CD

CD is perpendicular to DA

DA is perpendicular to AB.

It implies, AB = CD = 4 units and BC = DA = 8 units.

As we know that,

In a quadrilateral, if pair of opposite sides are equal and angle between the sides is 90°, then quadrilateral is a rectangle.

So, this figure, ABCD is a rectangle.

Now, we know about the quadrant system

\begin{gathered}\boxed{\begin{array}{c|c} \bf Sign \: Convention & \bf Quadrant \\ \frac{\qquad \qquad}{} & \frac{\qquad \qquad}{} \\ \sf ( + , + ) & \sf  {1}^{st}  \\ \\ \sf ( - , + ) & \sf  {2}^{nd}  \\ \\ \sf ( - , - ) & \sf  {3}^{rd} \\ \\ \sf ( + , - ) & \sf  {4}^{th}  \end{array}} \\ \end{gathered}

So, According to statement,

Four friends Ram, Raju, Ravi and Ritu are standing in reference to a well situated at the origin with the following respective coordinates (2,4) , (-2,4), (-2,-4) and (2,-4)

Raju stands at (- 2, 4).

It implies, Raju stands in second quadrant.
