Given:

Respective coordinates (2,4), (−2,4), (−2,−4) and (2,−4)

To find:

The perimeter of the rectangle.

Solution:

d = \sqrt{(x_2 - x_1)^{2} +(y_2-y_1)^{2} }

Calculate the distance d₁ between Ram (2,4) and  Raju (-2,4)

d_1 = \sqrt{(-2 - 2)^{2} +(4-4)^{2} }\\\\d_1 = \sqrt{(-4)^{2} +(0)^{2} }\\\\d_1 = \sqrt{4^{2} }\\\\d_1=4

d₁ = 4

Calculate the distance d₁ between Raju (-2,4) and Ravi (-2,-4)

d_2 = \sqrt{(-2 -(- 2))^{2} +(-4-4)^{2} }\\\\d_2 = \sqrt{(-2+2)^{2} +(-8)^{2}  }\\\\d_2 = \sqrt{(0)^{2} +(8)^{2} }\\\\d_2=\sqrt{8^{2}}\\\\d_2 = 8

d₂ = 8

Since, it is a rectangle.

So, the other two sides will also be equal 4 and 8

Perimeter = 2(length + breadth)

Perimeter = 2(4 + 8)

Perimeter = 2 × 12

Perimeter = 24 cm

So, the perimeter of the rectangle is 24cm.

Therefore, option (c) is correct.
