Four horses are tethered with equal ropes at 4 corners of a square field of side 70 metres so that they just can reach one another. Find the area left ungrazed by the horses.​

area of square = 70*70= 4900sqm
horses can just reach 1 other implies radius of circle is half the side i.e 35m
total area 1 horse can cover =22/7(35*35)=3850sqm
area that a horse can cover on the field is only 90degrees of the circle so area will be 1/4(3850)sqm

total area covered inside grazing area by 4 horses = 4(1/4(3850))= 3850sqm

so total area left ungrazed = 4900-3850= 1050sqm

area of squre=70×70=4900sq m

then area of circle=πr√2=22/7×35×35=3850sq.m

therefore,area left ungrazed=(4900-3850)sq.k

=1050sq.m
