The four kinds of noise that affect the communication process are:

1. Physical noise - It refers to the interference in the environment, like noises made by others, spam and pop-up ads, extremely dim or bright lights, crowded conditions and extreme temperatures.

2. Psychological noise - It refers to our qualities which affect the way in which we interpret others and communicate with them.

3. Physiological noise - This noise is created by the barriers within the receiver or sender. For example articulation problems on the podcaster's side.

4. Semantic noise - This is caused when there is a communication between people from different playing fields.
