The Genesis Route is a 220km stretch that lies in the heart of Mpumalanga’s Makhonjwa Mountain Range.  Mpumalanga  which is referred as the place where the sun rises has Kruger National Park and Panaroma Route.

The Genesis route is packed with variety of flora and fauna along with ancient historic towns.The main four towns along the this route are  the towns of Barberton , Badplaas , the agricultural community of Low’s Creek and Mbombela .This route exhibits  some of Mpumalanga’s most varied landscapes and magnificent viewpoints . It is the ninth place in South Africa to be awarded with the  tentative World Heritage Status. It is the entrance to the Kruger Lowveld, Swaziland and Mozambique and provides another option to the N4 for those travelling from Gauteng.

The Genesis route( which is of 220km) belongs to the mountain range of Mpumalanga’s Makhonjwa.

It is considered to be a hidden gem as the route is full of attractions such as gold panning in Barberton, the Rimer's Creek birding trial, etc.
