Four men can do a piece of work in 6 days, while 3 women can complete the same work in 16 days. In how many days 1 man and
2 women working together can complete the work?​

Let W denotes the whole given work.

It is mentioned that,

(i) 4 men or 6 women can complete the work W in 16 days.

(ii) Let D denotes the time (in days) when the same work W is completed by 2 men and 9 women.

From (i) we determine that,

(iii) 1 man in 1 day can complete the amount work = W/4/16 = W/64

(iv) 1 woman in 1 day can complete the amount work = W/6/16 = W/96

Therefore from (ii), (iii) & (iv) we get the following relation,

D*(2*W/64 + 9*W/96) = W

or D*(1/32 + 3/32) = 1 or D/8 = 1 or D = 8 (days) [Ans]
