1. Sliding Friction
2. Rolling Friction
3. Static friction

Well the ways in which friction can be reduced are as follows :

1. Usage of Friction-less or smooth surfaces. This makes the friction negligible thus resulting zero-friction.
2. Usage of Ball bearings inside the devices which work on rolling friction like engines, gears, etc.
3. Usage of lubricants such as Oil or Grease in appliances can also reduce friction such as sliding friction.
4. Usage of Powder can also reduce friction to a required level.
