Given : four non-negative integers(a1,a2,a3,a4) sum to 101010.

no carry is performed while adding these four numbers

To Find : how many ways you can choose(a1,a2,a3,a4)

Solution:

no carry is performed Hence numbers must be consist of 1 and 0 only

in largest number initial 1 must be there

and remaining 2 ,  1's    possible cases are 2 x 2 = 4 ( 1 is there or 0 is there)

100000 , 100010 , 101000 , 101010

incase of 100000 remaining to be added is 1010   Here also 2nd 1 can be there or not hence 2 cases

so total 5 cases

Here are the 5 possible cases

100000  + 1000 + 10 + 0

100000 +  1010 + 0  + 0

100010  +  1000 + 0  + 0

101000  +  10 + 0  + 0

101010   +   0 + 0 +  0
