Four people A,B,C and D of masses 7,9,5 and 13 (in kg) respectively are moving with their respective velocities in the ratio 4:3:5:2. who will have the highest momentum?

mA = 7 kg

mB = 9 kg

mC = 5 kg

mD = 13 kg

vA:vB:vC:vD = 4:3:5:2

Momentum is given by formula -

p = m.v

So ratio of momentum of all persons will be -

pA : pB : pC : pD = mAvA : mBvB : mCvC : mDvD

pA : pB : pC : pD = 7×4 : 9×3 : 5×5 : 13×2

pA : pB : pC : pD = 28 : 27 : 25 : 26

From this, we can say that A will have maximum momentum.
