total resultant resistance = 4.8 Ω

Explanation:

1/10 + 1/20 + 1/30 + 1/40

taking lcm,

12/120+ 6/120 + 4/120 + 3/120

= 25/120

5/24

Therefore resultant resistance = 24/5 Ω

= 4.8 Ω
