For highest resistance connect all resistors togather in a same wire, i mean connect all of them in series where total resistance would be 48 ohm.

For minimum resistance connect all of them in parallel connection so it will form the least resistance. the total resistance would be 2 ohm.

highest resistance is A+B+C+D in series

least resistance in parallel

1/4+1/8+1/12+1/24=5/10

Therefore,
