Four students P, Q, R and S traced the path of a ray of light passing through a glass slab for an angle of incidence 40° and measured the angle of refraction. The values as measured by them were 18°; 22°; 25° and 30° respectively. The student who has performed the experiment methodically is (A) P (B) Q (C) R (D) S

Given :
Four students namely P,Q,R,S have done the experiment of tracing the path of ray passing through glass slab.
Angle incidence=i=48°
Noted angle of Refraction= 18° 22° 25° and 30°
We can find out by using Snell's law
refractive index of glass=n=sin i/sin r=1.52
=n=sin 48/sin25
=0.0642/0.422
=1.52
Hence student R with measurement 25 degrees is correct answer.
