Answer:

The test tube containing only the snail will have the most dissolved carbon dioxide i.e. Test tube A

A snail present in water will respire and release carbon dioxide.

The test tube having plants will use up all the carbon dioxide for photosynthesis and release oxygen.

The test tube having only water has no significant change in the amount of carbon dioxide over time.

So the correct answer is 'A'.

Answer:

I think the answer would most likely be D.

Explanation:

Test tube D, as you can see (it’s rhyming) only has a snail in it.

The snail would respire to take in all the oxygen available from the water, and release carbon dioxide in exchange, thus increasing the concentration of CO2 in the water.

IF there would have been any plants in test tube D, it would absorb all the carbon dioxide, and A and B could not possibly be the answer, as the black polythene prevents any light from entering, thus reducing the production of carbon dioxide.

So, the other test tubes with a plant would not have the maximum amount of carbon dioxide, which leaves only test tube D as the option…
