ANSWER:

  • Required number = 10.

GIVEN:

  • Four times a number increased by 5 is equal to 45.

TO FIND:

  • Number.

SOLUTION:

Let x be the number.

Four time the number = 4x

Four times a number increased by 5 = 4x+5

Now:

According to the Question:

=> 4x+5 = 45

=> 4x = 45-5

=> 4x = 40

=> x = 40/4

=> x = 10

  • Required number = 10.

NOTE:

  • The above method by which we have find the number is linear equations in one variable.
  • In this way we first form and equation and simplify it.
