curved surface area of a cylinder=(2*pi*r)*h

area of two bases=(pi*r^2+pi*r^2)=2*pi*r^2

According to the given data

4(2*pi*r*h)=2(pi*r^2)

by solving this

r=12h/8 {Since given h=12cm)

r=8cm

therefore

curved surface area=2*pi*8*12

                              =192*pi
