Step-by-step explanation:
Given :-
Four times the sum of the digits of a 2-digit number is equal to the number itself.
The digit in the units place is 2.
Number = 10x + y
To Find :-
The Number
Solution :-
Let units digit place be x.
And the tens digit place be y.
According to the Question,
⇒ 4 (x + y) = 10x + y
⇒ 4x + 4y = 10x+ y
⇒ 4x - 10x = y - 4y
⇒ - 6x = - 3y
⇒ 2x = y .....(1)
Putting Eq (1), we get
⇒ x = 1 and y = 2
Number = 10x + y = 10(1) + 2 = 12
Hence, the number is 12.
